Welcome to Kindlewood Chalet's Website where we hope to give you some 'tidbits' of information to tease you and entice you to visit this breathtaking part of the world we call Newfoundland & Labrador.
Located on the most eastern landmass of the North American continent, and being the tenth province of Canada, we've grown to discover our own historic and archeological treasures which are second to none, anywhere in the world. We're very anxious to share them with you. Kindlewood Chalets, is strategically located 'smack-dab' in the middle of the most exciting features our province has to offer. Overlooking the banks of the world-renowned Humber River, Kindlewood affords you easy access to deep, swirling salmon pools, stopovers for the powerful Atlantic Salmon on its long trek inland. Kindlewood canoe excursions can take you as far inland as the salmon, rich in wildlife, and solitude, an experience of a lifetime.
The winding Humber River Valley trimmed with mountain peaks for miles plays host to one of eastern Canada's newest and most exciting ski resorts , Marble Mountain just 2 km. west of Kindlewood Chalets and ten minutes from Newfoundland's second largest city ,Corner Brook. Our city hosts a wide variety of winter and summer events to excite all ages as well as playing host to many business conventions.
Each chalet offers over 1000 square feet of very comfortable living space, enhanced by accents of knotty pine furniture and natural sunlight pouring through the large windows. Ample sleeping quarters, complemented by very efficient user-friendly surroundings inside and out, offer our guest the best alternatives to the traditional types of accommodations.
The serenity and solitude of the Humber River helps make Kindlewood a great family or corporate retreat experience. Slow moving currents and smooth eddies frequently broken by breaching trout make it a real chore to be a "land lubber". Many guest have enjoyed catching their first trout off our shores.
Just forty-five minutes to the east of the Trans Canada Highway is the gateway to one of Canada's most impressive world heritage sites Gros Morne National Park, 1805 square kilometers of beauty, geological history, fjords, and wildlife - not to mention 4500 years of human habitation. Kindlewood Chalets offers a fantastic focal point from which all the magnificence of the west coast of Newfoundland can be accessed.
